19 Things To Do in Austin’s 78722 - Cherrywood And French Place
Posted by Garreth Wilcock under For Buyers, For Sellers, Regional News, Cherrywood, Fave Neighborhood
Austin’s Cherrywood neighborhood is full of character, known for its brightly colored stucco homes, Duplex Nation, and plenty of things to do. Cherrywood lies east of I-35, roughly bounded on the west by the highway, the east by Airport Boulevard, the north by Wilshire Boulevard and the south by Manor Road, with Cherrywood Road running through the center.
French Place, a neighborhood pocketed within Cherrywood, features many homes built in the 1940’s by the Giles family. Residents use the neighborhood names interchangeably as they share a zip code and a very active online group, and both are within a hop, skip and a jump of any number of great places to visit and things to do.
The neighborhood schools include: Maplewood Elementary, Kealing Middle School (a magnet school), and McCallum High School (also a magnet school). The University of Texas is just about two miles away.

You obviously know the Austin Real Estate area of Cherrywood Garreth; what great information and the map is so helpful! December 29, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Thanks Cindy! I like my google map of Cherrywood. There are such good restaurants on Manor Road, it seems churlish not to point them out! December 29, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Garreth, you could never be considered 'churlish'! You have put together a great post, and I am determined to visit some of these delightful places if I'm ever in Austin's Cherrywood neighborhood. December 30, 2008 at 10:27 am
